Forgive me, I have no manners, I joined the forum and started posting, but didn’t notice there was an intro section until now.

Anyway, I’m Alex and I live in Silicon Valley - about 2 miles from the new Apple headquarters - and I try to get out of here as often as possible, mostly a weekend warrior. I spent nearly two decades road racing motorcycles with AFM, WSMC, WERA, FUSA, AMA Pro, etc. - got to go to Daytona, Road Atlanta, all over the place, not just the N. California tracks - and was very fortunate to retire from racing in 2010 without ever breaking a bone in my body (crashed plenty of times, was just very lucky). At one time, I had one of the fastest non-factory RC51s in the country - see pic.

With all the new found free time and $$$$, I got back into saltwater fishing (got a center console Parker) and got a green 2000 TJ Sahara, pretty much bone stock. It was supposed to have a Dana 44 but that turned out to be false. We swapped in a Dana 44 with disc brakes, TrueTrac LSD rear, lunchbox front locker, installed a 5.5” Rubicon Express short arm kit with Bilsteins, did the SYE mod, completely armored up the underside, went to 4.56 gears, 35” BFG All Terrain KO2’s, Warn winch, custom steel bumpers, OR-FAB tire carrier, recently swapped in JW Speakers headlights (tutorial is how I found this forum) and the TJ was good enough to get through the Rubicon Trail last year.

I wanted to do Moab this year but broke my back in May due to a freak accident on a KTM 300, so this year is a write-off. My fractured L1 vertebrae didn’t heal with just a brace so had to have surgery six weeks ago but I’m recovering nicely and Nurse Ratchet is kicking my azz in physical therapy. Moab is still on the bucket list but I’m starting to get to know more off-road people and hope to get into more weekend camping and maybe hunting trips. My Jeep also serves double-duty pulling my duck boat - see pic.

Hope to meet some of you on the trails and thanks for everyone’s contributions to this forum!

Welcome buddy...sounds like you have done a few mods to your TJ...dark green is a great colour too. My dad did his back in as well 3rd vertebrae if I remember...recovery is slow but he's much better now, so all the best with yours.
Moab would be fantastic and definitely on my bucket list too.

Well, I actually unloaded all my sport bikes after retiring from racing and went to the HD “dark side” (never thought I would own anything that slow and heavy, but it’s been great for getting the wife to start riding with me). Initially got a used Electra Glide and upgraded to a new Street Glide Special last year.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the introduction. I'm coming from sport bikes myself (namely Ducatis and Aprilias), but not I ride a 2017 Indian Scout. My Wrangler is the only vehicle I've ever owned where I think it might actually be just as much fun (or even more fun) than riding a motorcycle. Especially with the top off and doors off.

Welcome! I’m a rider as well... well, I was. Sold my beautiful Ducati quite a while ago.

Nothing but Jeeps in my garage now!

Don't need a signature for something that everyone already knows.

Welcome, I am a rider as well. I mostly ride sport bikes. I had a 05 Repsol for about 10 years, and sold it off, and now I ride a R1 50th anni. <-- Daily driver. For my off-roading toys I have a Raptor 700, and of course my 98 Sport TJ. Welcome again, and love the pics.

Welcome. With plans to go to Moab, and having the L1 thing going on, you might want to make your next mod a suspenion seat. Much more forgiving than the factory sprung seats.

Interesting. I’ve never looked into suspension seats, guess I’ll have to do some research.
