I have checked vacumn lines and all looks good.
Have A/C and heat.
Defrost blows strong against windshield.
All other settings only blow air at the floor.
Blend door/ actuator issue?
I am getting a flutter noise on all settings.
Possible vent blockage.
Thanks,
Bob

I have this problem as well, but haven’t gotten around to checking it out too much

Thanks for the info.
Vacumn lines all look good.
For a 2002 TJ is the blend door and actuator behind glove box,
or is it uner the center conssole.

Not 100% sure on the 2002 model. Have you checked your vacuum lines where the go under the battery? I know that’s a common place for them to fail.

I think this write-up will work for you, as it’s for a 97, which would be the same as an 02:

It’s ironic, but I have a 2002 with the opposite issue. Air from the vents but nothing out of the defroster. I haven’t tried to figure it out yet.

Does anybody use these anymore? 41PHMyyV39L._AC_SY400_.jpg

A vacuum brake bleeder?

haven't been able to confirm line to resevoir under battery is good.
I have crawled under jeep three different ways and i don't see anything.
If I pull out battery can I see and check it?

Good question. I think you have to remove the battery to see it, though I'm not 100% sure as I haven't dug around under there yet. I just know that some people who have had this issue traced it to a cracked vacuum line under the battery.

Either way, your issue is either a vacuum leak or a stuck blend door. It's got to be one of those, as those are almost always the most common causes of the vents that won't blow air.
