No bus

Got the no bus code this morning. Gauges went dead then popped back on when I hit the gas pedal. I have read I may have a loose connection behind cluster, low voltage (battery or bat connection) crank position sensor.
I lost my gas cap a few days ago and am waiting on a replacement. The check engine light came on the day after I lost it. The no bus happened today. Could the no gas cap possibly have anything to do with the "no bus"? just seems weird it happened about the same time within a day or two. The no bus is not constant and has been sparatic.

I doubt they're related issues. My 98' used to get the no bus all the time. I just banged on the cluster each time to temporarily fix it. After 6 months, I finally removed the cluster and slightly bent the prongs to fix it. Never had an issue again.

Thanks. I think k that's it. Banged on the dash and it started working. Seems like my Jeep issues always pop up in at pairs at the very least. Seams like an easy fix though.
