97 sport I've got no lights when headlights are on but when the running lights are on I have dash lights. I swapped out the headlight switch and to no Avail. Does anybody Have a clue as what could be the problem? What wire is responsible for the dash lights? Thanks in advance!

Have you checked that the dashlight dimmer control is not just turned down? It seems my '97 dashlights were full bright without the headlights on and only became adjustable for brightness when the headlights were on.
Yes I checked every possible position. I've swapped the switch and it was no help. The running lights are not working but brake lights do work when applied. I haven't had a chance to do a reassessment.
Update. After swapping switches I now have no dash in either position. Running lights or with headlamps on.

Based on '98 FSM, a tan wire comes out of the switch and goes to fuse 12.
From there, dash & switch light power is usually orange.

Do you have the plunger style switch? It twists with one direction dimming and during off the dash lights and the other turning them on.

Yes I have a push pull switch. I replaced it after 18 mo. This situation just started for no apparent reason. It still continues after swapping out the push/pull switch. The dash lights kinda work in the first position and not at all in the headlight on position, nor do the tail lights although the brake lights do function when brakes are engaged.
What about the grounds? I'd check two places...passenger side speaker cover...and just behind the passenger side front headlight. Clean em up with a wire brush and bolt them down tight. I like a little NoOx too.

I will give that a go. Everything is LEDs and seems to be checking out so far ie; fuses....All worked for over 2 years when I swapped all lights in vehicle for LEDs, so I don't believe that's the issue. I Think I'll see if changing the switch again (3rd one) is any help. I really doubt it'll help.
Update: Earlier i had the same issue but now the brake lights are not working. The dash lights will work only if the switch is pulled out to between parking and headlights. All fuses check out. Am at a stand still, literally, any and all ideas welcomes

Inspect the harness connector pins and wiring that connects to the headlight switch looking for oxidation and signs of overheating.

Any update to this? I have the exact same issue. Running lights + dash lights but no headlights and vice versa. New Mopar headlight switch made no difference. Used headlight switch made no difference. I have LED headlights, LED dash lights, and LED brake lights.
I have the same light set up. I have also made no headway on the issue. I just pull the switch out all the way to where headlights are on. Then i lightly push back in until dash lights come on. Its in between running lights and headlights. Problem arise sometime when theres a bump in the road because lights will flicker or go out totally. Its not bad if you know about it...lol
