I’m trying to figure out why my reverse lights won’t come on, they haven’t worked since I bought the Jeep and I have never even seen them flash. They are the only lights that don’t work and I already checked the fuse and replaced the bulbs.

Sorry lol it’s a 98 Sahara with a 4.0 I just can figure out how to fill out my profile for the life of me.
What he was looking for was your transmission type. But nevertheless, the Reverse switch is on the transmission. With a manual transmission there is a connector on the side that turns the reverse light on. With an automatic transmission, that job belongs to the NSS/Neutral Safety Switch mounted on the transmission which also contains the reverse light switch.

Before replacing the NSS, have someone watch the reverse light to see if it comes on at all while you slowly move the shifter back & forth between Park and Neutral over the Reverse position. If it does the shifter cable may just have stretched a bit and only needs a small adjustment. Its length is adjusted at its forward most mounting bracket on the driver's side of the transmission.
