Hi TJ Forum! Helping my son get his TJ sorted before going to college. Thanks for all the information shared here. We really appreciate it.
2001 Wrangler Sahara, 4.0, Manual transmission
We've gone through a lot of troubleshooting and good old fashioned maintenance: New spark plugs, new coil, new Mopar crankshaft position sensor, new valve cover gasket. We also verified the fuel pressure and the compression. Everything points to a bad, albeit brand new, NTK crankshaft position sensor. Our TJ needs the Mopar 4897023AA camshaft position sensor, but there are none to be found. Jeep dealers around us are telling me that they don't see any inventory anywhere. We've checked eBay, Google, etc.
Any other suggestions on the Mopar part?
Does anyone recommend an aftermarket camshaft position sensor? Have you had luck with it over time?
Someone recommended a Crown 4897023AA, but they are out of stock everywhere too.
Thanks!
