NV3550 Fluid Change

You know it's full if fluid seeps out from the filler hole while the tires are on the ground (or a level lift). I wouldn't take a chance of it not being completely full.

I’ve seen it done that way as well. Fill it til it leaks. It definitely did not overflow with 2 quarts. I can use my endoscope to take a peak on how full it actually is.

How important is the 0.1 quarts of the 2.1 quarts needed to fill the nv3550? I filled up using two quarts of redline mtl and at $20/qt should I be buying a third quart to top it off?

That .1 qt is the difference of having a perfectly level driveway or 1 with a 2 or 3 degree slope. In order for the trans to drain to the point of taking that tiny extra bit you would almost have to disassemble it to get every drop out.
In other words it is a non-issue.

I checked the level yesterday after using only 2 qt and it was at the fill hole as I checked it with finger and a scope. It actually started leaking out once I opened the fill.
