He is local to me, I’ve had him cut some metal parts for me in the past. He was easy to work with and got me what I needed in a timely manner at a good price…..

I wonder if it comes fully welded? I remember, learning the hard way, welding bump cans in similar to pictured. I kicked myself in the A$$ later with alot of die-grinder work.

Limit strap tab/bump can gusset is similar to how I approached. However, I made 4 holes placed at different elevations in the gusset for limit strap tuning. In lieu of twisting.

Shouldn't the bumps be closer to tangential to the axle travel arc to reduce the pad skidding during that section of suspension travel?

TJ Rear Shock Tower

Tackle your Jeep TJ suspension upgrade confidently with our TJ rear shock towers. Proudly made in the USA, we considered clearance, travel, strength, and packaging convenience when we designed these towers. The ultimate solution to tackle a full TJ 1 ton 4 link axle swap.

To fit a large shock and clear 40s flexed out, the tower is frenched into the frame 1 3/8″. This allows room to fit up to a 2.5″ coilover or ORI while maintaining proper shock angles. Only one of the two shock tabs are keyed into the tower allowing for whatever spacing you need, whether it’s 1.25″, 1.5″, or 1.6″ for ORI’s.

We Designed the TJ rear shock tower around having a 1″ body lift however it’s not necessary, just recommended. This was to maximize travel potential without having to cut the inner wheel wells out. However you can install the tower 1″ lower or cut the inner fender without a 1″ body lift.

Strength is a must for a top of the line offroad suspension. Made from 3/16″ steel these towers provide the optimum strength-to-weight ratio. The bent design matched with only notching half of the frame makes for a premium combination.

With any custom 4 link suspension room runs out FAST with coilovers, air bumps, limit straps, and a rear swaybar. Mounting the shock off the back of the axle utilizes all the room the wheel has to offer for shock height. This leaves room directly over the axle for the bump stop to be frenched into the frame for maximum clearance. Additionally allowing a sway bar to run in front of the axle (*does not include swaybar or mount). Lastly, the limit strap tab incorporated as a gusset for the bump mount provides a premium fit and finish.

Variations:

  • Rear shock towers only – this includes left and right tower uprights, L & R tops, and 4 inner shock tabs. Comes unwelded
  • 2.0 Bumpstop mount add-on – includes above tower parts along with L&R bump can saddle mount, L&R frame french gusset plate, and 2 limit strap frame tabs. *Does not include bump cans.

Was too constrained from the welds to clamp on the can? What did you learn?
