My new oil pressure sensor from Rock Auto didn't come with thread sealant applied (I was under the impression that they did)

What type do I need to use?

Thanks in advance!

You want to be careful some say using tape will effect function of the sending unit. I'm guessing it's 1/8 or 1/4 pipe thread so if you must, use a few wraps of Teflon tape.

Teflon tape works fine for sealing the oil pressure sender, and it's more than up to the engine block temperatures.

Although one can use ordinary teflon plumbers tape in a pinch, I keep a tube of this in my toolbox and have found many uses for it:

Blue thread locker and black rtv or any rtv will work fine too. You don't need high temp, if your oil is "high temp" you have other problems to worry about.
