Old rhino liner removal

If it's flaking off, they probably didn't prep it right. The previous owner of mine sprayed the faded plastic with that stuff. Once it started flaking, I was able to power spray it with water to encourage further flaking. Be careful of the pressure as too much can take paint off and try to get an angle under a flaking area.

I take a little off at a time when I wash.

The problem is they normally use the stuff to cover rust and blemishes. So you may have body damage or faded paint underneath.

Try a couple methods and if the paint under it looks bad, you can stop or get more aggressive.

CitriStrip is the way.
Roughly $27 at my local ACE, used half of bottle to cover everything up to the trunk

I'd forget the idea that the paint will be salvageable, let alone pristine, because it probably won't be and just use what these guys use. Strip it off and repaint.

I wonder what you would have to do for the edges where this was applied. So its not like you can just use a tape line, maybe grind down the edges to bear metal so it can be cleaned, primed, and painted?
