One of the main reasons I love these TJs

So true. Really the jeep is part of the American story and it’s certainly part of the American automotive story. I don’t know if there is any vehicle that’s as a better image for being fun.
I think the air-cooled Beetle is right there with it. Maybe not in terms of American culture necessarily, but it's certainly an icon in automotive culture.

Funny you mention the motorcycle part. I love riding a motorcycle, however, the roads around here and the asshole drivers really don't let me relax and enjoy just cruising. With the top down and doors off, I get pretty close to that feeling, without having to worry if I'll topside on the next pothole that wasn't there yesterday.
Yes! gave up the Harley several years ago for same exact reason. Jeep is as close as you can get.

I’ve got a few bikes, one is a Harley. I may be the oddball here, but as much as I love the Jeep, if I have a choice I’m taking one of the bikes.

Having said that, I do love the Jeep and it’s the go to vehicle when my daughter is with me.

This post gets all the feels. I've been in and out of Jeeps since '92 and its always been an escape vehicle. Even with the world in shutdown last year the wife and I would routinely "socially distance" by ripping off the doors and going cruising in the N. GA Mountains. I'll have a Jeep in one form or another till the day i die. It's just part of my DNA now.

add me as another who just likes to get in a cruise. I can have the worst, most stressful day ever. Leave work pissed off at everyone. I throw the top off, hop in and start driving. Pretty soon, the corners of my mouth are twitchy and not long after, a full on smile takes over. I've had bikes too, but the jeep just does it for me.

Don’t forget the smells as you drive along. Spring flowers. The chicken house. How about the hot weather and the cool air as you go through a thermal cool spot.

..... and the dairy farm. Cannot forget the dairy farm.

Selling my FLHTK Harley and moving back to a TJ was a no brainer. Riding two wheels for 55+ years was great, but being 70 and tooling around on a half ton bike was getting to be troublesome for me.
A cool night, top and doors off, a country road and some good music on four wheels =😁😁😁.

I worked with a guy who was decommissioning plants he helped build. He was missing a finger, so one day I asked him how (thinking industrial accident). He said, a couple of years ago riding his motorcycle. His wife of 50 years made him stop.

He started riding again after she passed away. He worked each year just long enough to pay for vacations, like the motorcycle trip He took across China at 80 years old.

How’d he lose the finger on the bike? Wreck it?

I like fresh mowed grass. I don’t know what’s going on but it is in the high 70s in Alabama at night right now, it’s just unbelievable.

He was one brave SOB riding in China. I spent considerable time in China and I wouldn’t drive a full size SUV there. Talk about a bunch of crazy MoFos!!!!
