These just popped up FS a few hours from me. I would ultimately like to go to 37s and outboard. Good deal? How the hell do I know if the brackets are placed correctly? Or if they’re even in good shape?

Sounds like a decent deal. G2 builds axles as a "crate" axles, so I'm sure the brackets are fine. That front 44 is not "as strong as a 60" though. Still the same, too small, ball joints for running 37s... You can do it, but you'll probably be replacing them often. If it's set for the factory TJ width, they will be a little too narrow for 37s too.
