I’m getting a check gauges light when driving on the freeway. When I check the diagnostic code I’m getting a P1594 code, Charging System Voltage Too High. It only happens on the freeway. Any ideas? The battery is about 18 months old and the alternator is about 6 months old.

I would test the alternator and see how many volts it is putting out first. Either on the vehicle or bring it in.. AutoZone, etc will test it. If only 6 months old it should be under warranty?
Also I just read a loose battery cable cause this same problem in someone else's Jeep.

No guarantees but that problem is commonly caused by a loose/dirty/corroded battery connection. Yes, even when the connections look clean and perfectly. The bad connection makes it hard for the alternator to read the battery voltage so it keeps upping its voltage thinking the battery has a low charge.
Physically remove both battery connections and clean them thoroughly with a wire brush. A $4 wire battery battery brush is ideal since it includes a male and female side for the battery post and the battery connector. Don't get lazy and convince yourself they look ok or just tighten them a little.

I had the same issue with my Mustang's high output alternator and it ended up being a bad voltage regulator. I found a shop that rebuilds alternators and for $40 bucks got a new regulator and no more issues.
