Overdrive switch not functioning

I have a "new to me" 2003 Rubicon that is in exceptional condition with 77K miles on it. I've tested pretty much every function and feature that it has and found almost everything to be perfect, The one thing that is not working is the O/D on and off switch. It does not affect the overdrive operation and the light does not illuminate when the switch is activated.

I've read that this is a momentary switch that send a signal to the PCM to cycle O/D on and off. Is there a way to test this function or do I just replace the switch?

Have you looked at the wiring behind the switch?

Would love to know the outcome of this. My switch light does not come on and even when pressed it doesn’t seem to change rpm’s which makes me think the switch is busted or something else

So pull the switch out and jumper the connector and see if it works.

Or run a continuity check on the switch.

Have you ever taken the center portion of the dash off?

Can you get access to the back of the switch?

Yes, I’ve taken the bezel off. I know how to get to it. I’m sure it’s pretty easy to access once I pop the bezel off
