P0113 Code, Gas smell performance issues

My 2006 Wrangler SE with 2.4 liters keeps blowing a P0113 code and Check engine light comes on. It runs at idling extremely rough. Motor jumps around then dies. I can smell gas. I can hear a sucking sound coming from the fuel injection system when I give it gas. The motor has performance issues as well. So I replaced the IAT sensor and cleared the code out of the computer, but still seconds after cranking engine light comes right back on. I replaced the 02 sensors and the air filter then reset computer so codes are cleared out, but still Seconds after cranking check engine light comes on and all the symptoms return. Help!!!

Check the wiring in leading to the IAT sensor, that's often the cause of symptoms that point at the IAT sensor.

Hopefully you replaced your O2 sensor with the OEM brand NTK and not a Bosch that never seems to work right in Jeep engines. Same with the IAT sensor, stick with the OEM Mopar brand if you can find it.

Store brand sensors are always a real crap shoot, I'll never install another store brand sensor. Too many problems with them.

If two sensors do the same thing I'd say it's probably not the sensor. The wiring is a great place to start. Those sensors depend on a good reference voltage and if the wiring or grounds are compromised you'll have problems. Carefully check the wiring and pay close attention to all the ground wires. I don't know where the ground wires are on the 2.4 but there's probably at least one on the block and one on the firewall.

The rough idle and sucking sound sounds to me like a vacuum leak. Try a smoke test to find it.

OOPS! No I didn’t go with the NTK Sensors, but not blowing codes there Anymore. You are such a great help. Do you know what DC Current Or Olms reading should come from IAT sensor harness so I can figure out if wiring on jeep is bad. Or How do I test the IAT Sensor itself?
