P1281 code AND fan speed issue

hopefully the prior owner took good care of it.. it was a young lady who had it most of its life, not sure if that is good or bad lol. if she was like my wife, she would have been good at oil changes and maintenance. if she is like my niece, she may have had the oil changed once every few years... scary I know.
I just changed the oil with mobil 1 high mileage saturday.

This is an easy job for sure. Take your time and it should be a walk in the park.

Fortunately the I6 isn't like some cars where the thermostat is buried under everything.
 
Regarding the fan speed switch - This is a common problem with TJs. It's usually not the switch. It's the resistor, which is an inexpensive part located under / behind the glovebox. It's an easy fix, though the location is a bit awkward. There were a couple different resistors used depending on the year, so check the parts manual for your year.
