Pancake wheel spacers

Say I only want an additional quarter inch of back spacing to accommodate the next larger size of tire. If my studs are long enough to accomodate, is it ok to use those diecast stud-less wheel spacers that are only a quarter inch thick? I do not like the look of wheels that stick out beyond the fender flares so I do not want to use the normal 1.25 inch adapters. I also do not want to add washers to my steering stops to eliminate rubbing. The quarter inch pancake spacers would seem to do the trick. Opinions?

As long as the nuts have enough thread engagement and are torqued to the proper spec, there isn’t a problem. The issues that have floated around the internet are from improper installation or incorrect length of studs.

The general rule of thumb for fasteners in steel is a thread engagement of at least the diameter of the screw. Aluminum is generally 2 the diameter. There is an equation to calculate it all but I’m not going to work it out.

I had a pair of these https://www.summitracing.com/parts/wil-300-11961 The bolt holes are .5 inch ID, which provides concentric mounting.
Now I have these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZ80BNY/?tag=wranglerorg-20 The bolt holes are larger than stock stud diameter. Considering the aluminum spacer is lightweight, and it has a low moment of inertia, it can get by with less than concentric positioning.

Here are measurements you will need if you go looking for longer studs.
Knurl Diameter .627"
Shoulder Length .688"
Underhead Length 1.938"
I didn't have success finding a 2.3" or longer stud that would fit.
