My LJ is not precisely a road princess, my parking brakes shoes are all the time full of mud or sediment which cut its life tremendously so i like to find and alternative. Use a block will sufice but a line lock maybe less eye sore. It have an auto tranny so it may not be need it but still.
Do any of y’all ever use other than cable and shoes for the parking brake? Maybe different calipers?

Do you have state inspections where you live? If so you're going to have to keep the stock setup functional.

You could look at drive line brakes
Expensive and very problematic. That and few of them work very well. Then there is the issue of needing an intact rear driveshaft to have a working parking brake or remembering to put it in 4 wheel drive if you lose the rear shaft.

I'd work on a line lock style knowing that a small leak renders them useless.
