Passenger cup holder

So I bought this cup holder that goes on behind the grab handle. My wife puts her big starbucks cup in it and the first turn I make it comes flying out on to my lap. I boxed it up and sent it back. But before I sent it back I made a template of the bracket with a little modification.

Here is the improved version.

I've randomly seen that first one a few times. It's good to find out that while it may be a jack of many trades it's not a master of what your wife would want to use it for.

The one you created looks perfectly fine to hold that tall skinny tapered Starbucks cup that I'll never understand how someone could design to be sold to begin with. Don't take me wrong, my wife will probably get one of those on her next trip there when the drive through line is so long she actually goes inside because it seems faster.

Oh they’ll fit, but they stick up so damn high it’s in the way of comfortably shifting.

I have the same thing. But I use it for a cell phone. And the drinks go in the console cup holders. Seems to work for me.

If there is a tall drink in the front OEM holder, you can kiss off second gear and reverse. Been there, done that.....once.

With the tall cups in the OEM cup holders shifting is a problem. This one is working out great.

I think I saw a post around here a while back regarding that original cup/phone holder. Someone pointed out that in the event that the airbag deploys, it could potentially be dangerous.

I have no problems shifting..........into Drive! LOL
