Looking for a good phone holder for my 97 TJ. What works and what doesn't?

I used this and attached it to one of the center vents. I used a rubber grommet wedged under the vent to keep it in the most upward position. I’ll take a picture tonight.

This works well, its a ProClip USA mount with a RAM mounting ball on it. I use an extension to get it a bit more in arms reach.

I have the same setup, (no proclip though). The X has never let go, and I've done 360 rolls in my yak with one on there.

I added a wireless charger to it and covered the pad in flexseal. It's water-tight and I can use the GPS with software and BT all day long and still have 80% battery power.

I second the RAM mount, but mine is just using the window suction cup. It stays up pretty good, but nuts and bolts are definitely more reliable.

ProClip has outperformed every other option I've used (suction cup, air vent) and doesn't require drilling into dash.
