Plastic retainer clip for hardtop nuts

Has anyone found a cheaper or better option to keep the hardtop nuts in place. Its so much easier to just drop the bolt in the 2 that I still have clips on. I saw on a previous thread that you could buy them at $11-20 a piece...seems a bit high to me.

Could a nutsert hold? Perhaps have normal nits at the corners and nutserts along the rail?
