The driver's seat belt buckle receiver button is sticking so I am considering replacing it. Looking at the 2006 parts PDF I see it is part number 5HS491X9AE. Looking on ebay I see some that are supposed to fit my 2006 with part number 5HS491X9AC.

What is the significance of the last letter in the part number? C is an older design revision than E?

Thanks, Andy

Typically the letters will be revision level. Who knows what the revision was for though. Could be important, like webbing strength or could just be a different fasteners because they changed coating.

Even numbers should mean RH side, odd numbers should mean LH

Also could be parts suppliers. Mopar issues contracts or purchase orders for a batch of parts. Usually a manufacturer increments a part number when a new supplier steps in.

Thanks for the replies! Makes sense that they would keep track of revisions like that. Andy
