Pop rivets vs. screws?

quick question, is there a marked advantage using pop rivets when replacing soft top bow straps vs. the screws provided with new bow straps?

Screws instead of pop-rivets were probably provided due to few people owning a pop-rivet setting tool. I'd go pop-rivets for that application.
