My 04 TJ 4.0 suddenly loses power after 10-15 minutes of sustained RPM's. Typically, while on the highway. Doesn't completely stall if you let off the gas, but will if you try to give it fuel. Restarts right away but very rough and will stall under minimal load. Only solution I have found is to wait 10 minutes and limp down the shoulder at 10Mph. Half the time it is fine after that in stop/start driving on surface streets around 35MPH, the other half of the time it sputters out and you just have to wait 10 minutes, go a mile and repeat...That or my buddies get to show up and tow me home. Throttle Position Sensor has been replaced.

Spray a can of throttle body cleaner down her yap and don't forget to spray some in the IAC passage way 1st. it takes 5 minutes and the easiest to do. Then check cats. Does it have fresh plugs in it ?
Definitely monitor fuel pressure.
And read /monitor live ODB data while you're driving.
Short term and long term fuel trims, O2 sensor voltage, vacuum and such.
A Bluetooth ODB dongle and the free app Torque Lite will accomplish this.

i put an analog fuel pressure gauge on it for about a 1000 miles but it never repeated the issue while it was on.
I do have a P0455 code that I cant seem to plug. assuming it is at the fuel tank connection. one other symptom is that when I cold start i have to crank it for two or three seconds, stop then crank again for it to start. It always starts but sometimes it initially sputters briefly before coming to life...
Yeah the check valve in the pump is shot. Pressure bleeds off.
Instead of the long crank just turn on the ignition...give it three seconds...you should hear the fuel pump hum...off, back in...three seconds...then crank.
You're letting the pump build up pressure that bled off.
Sounds like you need to drop the fuel tank. Replace the pump assembly and smoke check the evap system hoses.
