Bought a new Odyssey battery today. When i took out the old battery, there was (what looked like) a round pressure switch in the middle of my tray.

Any ideas on what it is or what it is for? The FSM is too tough to navigate on my phone :(

That is the battery temperature sensor. It's purpose is to insure the alternator doesn't overcharge the battery, or charge it at too high of a rate (which could overheat the battery & cause it to burst).

That's a temperature sensor that the ECM uses to monitor the battery. One of the inputs for controlling battery charge rate.
