Purpose of small hole on top of 4.0 intake manifold?

Hi folks - I recently noticed what looks like an empty threaded hole on the top of my 4.0L intake manifold. My googling has come up empty for what's supposed to go in there?

Including a couple pictures. One of the hole in my Jeep circled in purple, and another picture of the whole manifold for perspective. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most likely just for a bracket of some sort on a different model that used the 4.0. It was used in the YJ, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Comanche. Not 100% sure which years used the same intake manifold, but there were also different options that may have used that threaded hole.

Ah interesting point, sounds plausible - thanks. I had wondered whether the hole could be for a clip for that wire harness that runs right above it.

Overall I suppose I'm just looking to learn if it's a problem that there's nothing screwed in there. To be clear the car runs fine, and there's no change in the engine's idle if I plug the hole while it's running, so maybe this is just my paranoia.

It's definitely just a threaded mounting hole, so you're fine there.

Just went out and checked mine and it's used by the M.O.R.E. ARB compressor mount

Nothing to worry about. I have a GC as well and it is just a universal part to lower production costs and fit different configurations. IIRC that particular one is for a bolt to support the air resonator. I'd have to look again to be sure though.

It isn't a screw through hole either, just for attachments. That's why there is no change to idle.
