Hoping someone has an answer to this, or link a good thread discussing this.

To begin, I have a 04 tj with factory sub/amp, PO installed aftermarket radio.

I have wired and installed an aftermarket sub and amp.

Two questions:

1) I suspect my already there radio is somehow failing/it’s the cheapest Amazon-buy, looking to get replacement.. but my question is, if it matters at all, when looking at Crutchfield’s website they ask if I have factory sub, but if I select no factory sub and they send me non factory sub adapter harness will it my factory sub harness?

2) the factory sub/amp plug, is this supposed to be left unplugged? Or is there something I am supposed to do to the factory plug. The one that’s underneath the console.

Thanks in advance for any info!

Answered my own questions.

Figured out my stereo puts the rear output rca and sub output rca together which what was making my system sound different than what I’m used to.

Found the thread talking about the sub/amp plug. Just leave it be to collect dust in the tj.

Thanks y’all
