Looking for advice. Mounting PSC assist cylinder on a 60. Really only 2 options I can see, diff cover or sway bar mount. O icons to diff cover is I’ll haveta unbolt it to pull cover. Just curious how much stress that is on the cover with 40s? TIA

What does the other end look like? Your bevel looks like shit. Work on that.

Bevels are only tacked at the moment, they’ll be fine. Diff plug is just a plastic cap for paint. Other end is busy, trackbar/sway bar/coil spring holder.
Tacked or not, if you do them once, finish that so you don't have to cut the tacks to bevel and weld it up.

What 60 are you running with what knuckles? I see part of a high steer arm and those stupid offset rod ends. Those need to go in the trash or carry some spares. If your assist is working like it should, it will bend those rod ends at the threads just past the jam nut.

FYI, that right side isn't all that busy, this is busy.

89’ Ford 60. Stock knuckles. I’ll be carrying spares I guess? If I didn’t have those offset joints I’d be hitting.

That is why you design the whole thing as a system. You need a diff cover that is tough but also that you can notch if needed for the tie rod to clear. We hammer them in behind the tie rod on the stockers. Cut and notch on the fabricated versions.

If you look closely, you can see the tie rod sinking into the notch we put into the diff cover.

If your tie rod is strong enough it bends the ends at the threads. If it isn't, then this happens.
