Finally did my re gearing bit, was aching for it all summer! As it’s not easy to find info on the 4cyl, I though I would share the info.
My dealer was suggesting 4.56 and so do the despicable tables everyone hates. So I went 4.88.
The car is a 2,4cc 4cyl, 6speed manual and sits on 33s and it runs PERFECT now!! I got to use my 6th gear on the arteries doing 50-60. I drive around town in 3d-4th and 1st gear is still very usable. No scorching no hard starts no nothing. It revs freely, feels as it should have felt with factory tire size, and despite the increased weight.
So if you are wondering which gear, for me, definitely 4.88!!
Process was very quick, my service man seemed to do it with his eyes closed. I think he was done with the front like in 30mins but then I had to leave, so no pics of the rear. As we all know, TPIWWOP, so here you go:
Pics from install, and pics of my ride, summer and winter mode. Yes I know, angrybirds grill can be frowned upon, but it suits my mood these days... so it stays.
