So I changed my rear diff fluid following the 500 mile break in period of new gears. I put in 2 quarts 75w90 gear oil (Dana 44 w/ Trutrac) and swapped the stock diff cover for an aftermarket aluminum cover. Didn’t notice any leaking from drums. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to add another 300mL thinking since it’s a bigger diff cover it could use slightly more oil to compensate (overthinking it. But I didn’t overfill the front diff at all). Now I come home to the Jeep after being away for 5 days and notice gear oil leaking into the tire from the drum on the passenger side. Would this be the result of overfilling the diff? I would assume the seals are new since I had a regear and axle swap at the same time.
