Anyone know the part number of the rear bolt on the starter in a ‘99? The guy I bought this from - I believe- put a larger bolt in the spot previously. It’s 15mm and “should” be 14mm. When I install the new starter I want to put the correct bolt in. I needed an impact wrench to get this out.

For a 2004 TJ the top bolt is M10X1.5X65. The bottom bolt is M10X1.5X45. Both have a 15mm head and are fully threaded.

I don't know if it's the same for a 1999 TJ but it probably is since your socket size is also 15mm.

14mm vs 15mm are not bolt sizes. You are referring to the size of the hex head. Do you have a thread checker?

I do not. But I was able to get to “front” bolt (as you’re looking from engine to rear) out with hand strength. The rear bolt, while I had very little space between the exhaust and frame, I couldn’t budge. I needed an impact wrench. When I reinstalled, I couldn’t get that bolt back in 100%. The starter is secure and this TJ is not my daily driver so I’m OK for now, would really just want the actual part to see if that makes a difference down the road. Also, just for color, the wiring harness on the new starter was reversed. WTF? Hahahaha

Thank you. Supposed to be 14mm. Front was 14mm. Thank you so much for the reply man. I’ll start there. Appreciate it.
