A weld washer is a washer fabbed out of thicker steel plate, generally 3/16" to thicker that has a hole the same size as what the bolt needs. The outside diameter is dependent upon the use but in this case, slightly larger than the diameter of the joint barrel if there is room on the control arm mount side plate. That is welded in place after being bolted down tight with a joint bolt sleeve holding the sides apart. After welding, the side plates are trimmed off to the edge of the weld.

Awesome! Thank you so much. I really appreciate it and can definitely visualize it. And now I understand that if you know what you're doing, then yes, you should definitely know what/how to make a weld washer.

The main purpose is just for strength of the brackets? My stock front control arms and brackets were "destroyed" the first time out, lol.
I'd like to protect both if possible. The off the shelf options all state they do not work with the stock control arms. I believe that's just because they hang down much lower than aftermarket.
