Rear differential failure issue

Able to take the hub off. To be honest I’m not sure what to look for and or test to see if the hub is at fault or bad. Here is some pics

Note that the old hub has a broken ring inside. In pic 4 the the bearing around the axle spline is a bit chewed up

Fixed! Replaced with new locking hub. Thanks for the guidance!
