Rear track bar interference

Working through an interference issue with my rear track bar. I have the savvy body lift and fuel tank skid, a JKS rear track bar and angled relocation bracket. Trouble is, the relocation bracket doesn't move the bar far enough forward. There won't be an issue cutting the bracket up and welding it forward, like I have it show in the picture, would there? Obviously, I don't want to run it in single shear like I have it shown, but it looks like a good position for the bar...I just slid a bolt in there to cycle the axle.


I'm feeling a time crunch (gotta have this Jeep mobile by Wednesday next week) and I'm not sure I'm thinking clearly.

By the way, I looked at trimming the tank skid. My axle is as far forward as it can go on my Currie control arms... The trim line tangent to the bar would bisect the bolt hole... So trimming really isn't an option.

I'm thinking that too. It really doesn't even bind the bushing at the frame end. I have dinner plans with my wife and another couple tonight. I'm going run to my shop later and grab some 2 x 4 tube and fab something up.

I once cut the JKS bracket and weld it in top of the OEM mount where you have the TB sit. Fabricate something your self will be nice way to stamp your signature on the job.

I made a new bracket and tacked it in. I think I'm going to keep it. It works really well. Kinda think that is how they should all be. I'm not pulling it far enough to bind the frame side any more than a "normal" bracket does and it opens up all kinds of clearance...enough that I could slide my axle back a little bit (probably only a half inch or so).

Anyway, I went from needing about 4.5" of bumpstop to only an inch and a half...and I could get more out of it, but my tires will be into the flares.

Here was the contact before.

The bracket I formed up out of 3/16" sheet. I just cut a strip, then cut a couple score lines about 75% thru to act as fold lines. Welded up the cuts after forming.

I have my weldor buddy coming over tomorrow so he can burn it in solid...I'm getting better with the welder, but this thing has gotta be strong and right...so I'll let him do it!
