Rear view mirror install

Ok, really dumb question..
I’m pretty good at following directions, cleaning, etc.
I’ve put the rear view mirror back on the windshield twice now and it lasts about 3 months and falls off.
Super clean, scrape, clean again. No luck.
This time it looks like the metal side let go.
Anyone have any tricks?
Back to the auto parts for another kit or two.

Don’t put too much of the adhesive on the metal mount. I only needs a small amount.

Of course clean it really well again before attaching.

It’s temperature sensitive. If the windshield is too cool the adhesive won’t cure right.

I ended up using 2-part epoxy. The mount (and epoxy) will want to drip/run. I used only a little epoxy and taped the mount in place for 24 hours.

It doesn't hurt to scuff the mount a little too.

Check with s local glass shop mine did it for free and never fell off

Wet epoxy cleans with alcohol . The glass shop post is a good idea..they are finicky ...2 fairly non Porous surfaces.
