Receiver lock that uses the ignition key?

I happened to see this at my local 4WP today and wondered if anyone here has tried one.
Apparently it "learns" your ignition key and helps avoid the tangle of keys that always seem to be lost in the center console.

I'm thinking it will probably work best with a key thats not all worn like mine, but it almost got me to shell out the $23 just to check it out.

It looks like the lock part is plastic and I want to hit it with the BFH.

Maybe it's not plastic but may never unlock again because some random guy thought he could break it off with his BFH.

Maybe we could start a "go fund me" for you to test one out and show us the video.

I bought 12 keyed alike hitch pins from Fleet Farm sure makes it easy to swap hitches. I have 2 spares just in case one goes missing or I add to the fleet. Got to lock them up, some cost over $200.

I 've had the same one for about a year and love it. Very easy to setup and still very smooth to unlock. The lock part only looks plastic because it has a rubber coating over metal. I have cut/drilled enough hitch pins due to lost/misplaced keys to impulse buy this as soon as I saw it. I It could handle your BFH until you gave up. Only down sides are it is really big, really red and really ugly.

Not arguing with you there. Never found one I couldn't get off eventually with proper motivation(it was mine or coworkers and keys were lost or out of town). This one is just as good as any other though and it uses same key as your ignition. Well worth it.

Nothing will deter a determined thief.
What they do is stop the punk who takes out your pin without you knowing when you stop somewhere. I always check my hitch and my trailer over all after I stop for gas or shop. I have found my latch released before. Some people think its a joke but very dangerous.

What about my house and tool box key’s. I’m not knocking the product. I think it’s a great product that solves a real problem. Unfortunately I have over a hundred different keys including duplicates use Master Lock 175 combination locks on everything I can to cut down on keys. If you look on youtube there are dozens of videos that show how to pick them in seconds. If they want it they will take it. Around here they load your car on a flatbed tow and they are gone. Now the are coming up to your house with a scanner at night and stealing the code for your keyless starting car and driving off.

I have the same one for my Dodge PU, 2 yrs now haven’t had my ball stolen since.
