Replace Tan Dashboard with Black

Just purchased a 1998 Half Door, I would like to replace the Tan Dashboard and lower inner half door from the Tan Color to Balck.

It would seem like a simple process, has anyone attempted this before ? does anyone know I can find the replacement parts. any assistance would be greatly appreciated

There's tons of them on eBay if you search, here's one for instance:

Basically you need the entire dashboard. Swapping it out isn't as much difficult as it is time consuming. There will be a lot of bolts to take off, things to unplug, etc.

I know that the idea of using paint for your dashboard seems sketchy. I was skeptical at first, but my buddy did this to a vehicle he has with a tan dashboard. I was expecting it to look crappy, but it actually turned out really good. In addition to that, it's been years now and the stuff has held up great.

So that is definitely one path you can go down, should you choose to.

The other paint option is Krylon Fusion which is made for plastics.

I painted my last one and it came out very nice.

I used both Dupli-Color and Krylon Fusion, the Dupli-Color worked best ... for me anyway.

If painting, it's all about the prep.

I did a number of my dash parts with the duplicolor just to see if it would hold up, and it's worked great. Only downside is the tan duplicolor is lighter than the factory tan.
