Hi All, so my passenger side sun visor (right side) was missing on my 2005 X (US model left hand drive, no side airbags).

No problem...I bought a set online. Reviews and questions answered said these would fit the 03-06...that is what drove the negative reviews:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y14VZ5P/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Doesn't fit, is about 3/4" too long....grrrr.

Also, see the comments here for these Rugged Ridge ones that are supposed to work for 03-06. All the comments say they are too long to fit and they give them a 1 star rating (I didn't order these ones, just referencing)

Just tried this site recently posted by @Fouledplugs
https://www.factorychryslerparts.co...0313&ukey_driveLine=7410&ukey_trimLevel=18840

No visor for the right side...unless it is for mail trucks without back seat, models with side airbags, or for right hand drive vehicles.

So frustrating that multiple places are selling parts that obviously don't even fit what they claim. What am I missing here? Anybody know where to get a replacement that actually fits a 2005 X?

Thanks!

Wait... do the sun visors slide in and out when you pull on them like sun visors do on most modern cars?

If so, that would explain why they are 3/4" too long... because they are slid out.

No, they don't slide, even on the metal post. Tried that one already! It is just one fixed piece. Thx!

I'm puzzled then... hopefully someone else will chime in, because it sounds like they sent you the wrong parts. Maybe these ones are for 97-02 models?

I ordered replacements, came too long, I shoved on them in on the posts and got them just right. Try it, they are just likely pulled out along their total legth some and can be “shoved” shorter.

Thanks, I already slid it some on the post already and then cut off a little of the plastic pin. Still didn't fit. I'll try with more force and report back!

I cant help but wonder what you would get in the mail if you ordered the passenger visor for a right hand drive or even a passenger visor for a mail carrier? I feel like it would be just the same as what you had from the factory...a normal passenger side visor. Both factory visors are around $80ea so it may be the correct one and its just labeled funny on the website.

I would give factory Chrysler parts a a call and see what they can do if you order it and its wrong and needs to be sent back and refunded.

A passenger side that fits the 03-06 passenger side. Looks to be in slightly rougher shape than the couple I posted above but this one is only $50.

Good news! As @PeteJE suggested, I gave the post a good whack with a rubber mallet and it came free. I was then able slide it as far as I wanted to make it fit as it should. Thanks again for your help guys!
