Replacing Hard Top with Soft Top

Hi all. I just bought a 2006 TJ with a hard top and I think we've decided to go ahead and put a soft top on it. I was told by a couple of folks that Bestop is the best aftermarket top you can get. I'm looking at reviews for the Supertop NX and some are really great but some really slam this top. I have a tendency to think that the bad reviews are a result of poor installation.
Can anyone give me a recommendation? I'm nervous about spending this much money on the top and not being happy with the purchase.
A part of me wonders if it would be better to just put a small electric pulley system in the ceiling of my garage so we can just raise and lower the sucker up when we want to and not even worry about the soft top.

The Supertop NX is the solution for people who want an OE soft top but don’t have the factory soft top hardware. It includes all the hardware.

Installation is a pain in the butt, but that’s how it is with ANY soft top the first time around, as the material needs to stretch and get broken in to be more pliable.

Now if you really want the best of the best, get the Supertop NX with the twill option. That is the cream of the crop in terms of soft tops (the twill is much thicker and quieter), but it’s also very, very expensive. You get what you pay for though, trust me.

Stay way from cheaper tops like Shittybilt. @StG58 recently had some bad luck with his new Smittybilt top.

Definitely! You can’t go wrong with Bestop. There’s a reason it’s called BESTop, haha.

I am in this same boat with one other issue... the only way I can afford the soft top is to sell the hard top. It would fetch anywhere between $1200 and $1600 around here, probably closer to $1600 right now because it is fall.
As it is my daily driver I am a bit worried about the extra noise but the thing that is killing me is when it's nice out it takes me 2 mins to ship the doors off but I can't take the hard top off and then I am screwed if it rains.
I also like the look of a fastback on the LJ. Anyone ever sell the hard top and later regret it?
