I have speakers picked out on amazon to replace my stock ones. Since I am replacing my factory front speakers do I also need to pick up a set of those adapter brackets or is that only for when you do bigger speakers in the front

My new front Polk speakers required the extra bracket. The OEM front speakers are built with extended housings to compensate for the opening size.

Are your replacing the fronts with the stock size 4x6’s ? Then it would be no to the brackets. If your replacing with 5.25’s then , yes you’ll need the brackets.

I put a pair of 6.5" Sony 4 ways into my sound bar. Nice fit without any cutting and made me want to throw rocks at the factory 5.25" speakers that were there.

I replaced the front with Polk 4×6 and needed an adapter bracket on my 06 with the "upgraded" system. The cheap Amazon brackets are a fairly thick plastic that were nice and rigid and fit perfectly.
