Replaced speakers without success

Hello.
I replaced all 4 speakers in my 1998 TJ. They are Hisonics 4 ohm. 5.25 in. (Amazon) Immediately the stock radio quits when the volume is turned up. And plays again when the volume is turned down. This did not occur with the original stock speakers. What happened?

Ohm mismatch?
On the stock speakers there is no ohm rating

Somebody who know more about the stock unit than I do will chime in shortly, but my GUESS is that the stocker is intended for 8 ohm speakers. Especially one made in the '90s. You're overloading the amp when you turn it up because the new speakers are drawing too much current.

Did you change how the speakers were wired? As in could you have connected the rear speakers to the same wiring powering the front speakers so they are operating in parallel with each other? Or did you use the original wiring for the front and rear speakers?
