Retractable side steps for TJ

I handle all the financial stuff for our household so theoretically I can do what I want without asking the wife. However, it’s not as great as it sounds since I’m the one that has to deal with my over spending. Sometimes wish it was the other way around and I could do what I want without worry and then just say “sorry, I didn’t know we didn’t have enough for that”. I’ll do better next time

happy wife, happy life...
Amen.....

So i went down to pick up my new track bar (metalcloak) and was talking to the guy who owned/ran the shop. Asked him if he knew anything about them. The look was priceless. He has removed a few of them over the years because the motors go out. Now it has me rethinking about them.

However, he did show me a really nice JKU fully built with regular sliders the had steps attached. They run around the city just fine. But when you go off road you can pull them off quickly and you are good to go.

This has me rethinking everything. Sometimes i question if i am always trying to go to high tech and need to keep with the simple solution.

I'm just not quit understanding why some guys on here have to "ask their wife" if they can buy a part for their Jeep?

Technically, I don't "have" to ask. And generally, I don't... For the small stuff. When I start to go over a couple hundred bucks, I like to get her blessing, or at least her knowledge. To me it's about respect to her and the family finances. Not that you don't respect your wife... Not what I'm saying. Just that for me, I like her to know what I'm spending money on, and I expect the same from her. We discuss it, and what else we might use the money for, if we have any other big purchases, etc.

I do the same.....I talk to my wife and let her know what I'm getting for the Jeep. She thinks its all pretty cool.

Yeah i piss her off every now and then. Ill come across a great deal and buy something on the spur of the moment. She gives me that disappointment look. Then i have to take her out to a nice dinner to make it up to her.
She likes to ground me from shopping. Especially the junk yards. After i bought a crawler skid plate. But the price was great.
