There is no quality mig/tig welder on the planet where I can get it cheaper than $350.00, buy the appropriate safety gear, & penetrate well. I am all for DIY, but for something that will support the weight of the vehicle, a cheapo harbor freight welder isn't what I want. I live on the 2nd floor of my apartment complex so a properly welding environment isn't accessible. When I need to do large scale work on my TJ I have to rent a bay at the MWR because I don't have safe flat workspace to jack a vehicle from or easy compressor access. Do I think a cheaper pair could be made? Sure thing. Will it already have a reputation of abuse on JV? No. Make a production set and I'd love to check em out.

Thanks for sharing Derek. Its not an issue of those not being an option, but the step just too high for be useful for my passengers.
