Hello all!

Sadly my 2004 TJ burned down on a dune adventure. I still have a YJ, so my jeeping days aren’t over!

Question to y’all, is anyone interested in free parts?

Things I have:
Rear bench seat
Smittybuilt soft top in so/so condition
Front and rear stock driveshafts (rear has new u joints)
King soft tinted upper door skins in good condition
Bestop upper door skins and frames in new condition
Angled track bar bracket
Shock relocation bracket
NP231 transfer case from a cherokee in good condition (needs a new stud on the back, but not a big deal).

Located in Northwest OK if anyone is interested. Not gonna ship, just hoping someone can get some use from what’s left of my burnt down rig.

Maybe this could be listed on the for sale thread or something I don’t know the protocol but it is great of you to offer and I hope these things can help somebody-

I hate to hear that happened to you and if you know the cause of the fire we would appreciate you sharing it so that we would know what to look for or how to better prevent that ourselves.

I think that something touched the hot exhaust manifold and ignited. Either that or an electrical fire. Came from the engine bay, but not sure why.

I found out the hard way why you should always carry a fire extinguisher!

I’m going to speculate leaking injector. Good thing you weren’t a member at the time or we would have to issue a citation. It’s in the handbook.

I am located in Edmond, not far from you, I will make the drive for whatever you’re willing to give up. Very interested in transfer case, driveshafts, bench seat, and tinted door skins. I can bring a trailer.

Sometimes a single extinguisher can't stop a fire once it gets going. It's normally going a while before you see it.

My then still nearly new '97 TJ's catalytic converter caused a small brush fire that I was barely able to extinguish somehow without a fire extinguisher. It was within a week or two after that I installed a 5-lb. ABC fire extinguisher.

I saw two burned TJs at the local pick a part recently. Makes me worried there is a trend with these things

A good start would be to not be lazy with your wiring practices and don’t let combustible items accumulate on the hot parts. (Put in effort to ensure safety).

Do you have the doors still? I need the screws that hold the grab handle on and some various interior door trim screws
