Security system for jeeps with soft top

Hi all, all going well I'll be in a TJ by this coming Wednesday

I know it'll be pretty pointless to lock the Jeep, and guns aren't legal here so I've been playing around with some ideas for security systems - hidden starter/fuel/ign defeat, possibly even some NFC/Bluetooth fanciness.

Would you guys be interested in a how to? I had a search and couldn't really find anything on the subject!

anti theft is way diff from making a soft top secure.

i never left anything of value in it and never locked the doors.
my motto was if you wanna look inside, go ahead........... just don't slice my windows to do it.

any kill switch should ensure it's parked where you left it.

Just leave your Rottweiler in the Jeep when you need to grab that coffee (be sure to bring back a muffin for him too) and I think few people will be rummaging through your ride.

That's the exact kind of thing I'm thinking of, but I'm toying around with setting it up so I can activate/deactivate the car from my phone via an app, or a sequence of button pushes (L turn signal X2, headlights on off X2 etc)

I've also thought of using something like this in series with the starter circuit. You could create your own combination with multiple switches. They wouldn't necessarily have to be momentary switches, any SPDT switch would do.

Depending upon the year of TJ that you are purchasing you could install the factory SKIM system that disables the ignition....
That is what I did shortly after purchasing my '01 in January.

This works great for me during the Summer and Spring months. "TAZ" fits under the seat. It woks so well that nobody will even ride in my Jeep. I prefer it that way. Unfortunately "Sweetpea" won't fit under the seat.

Kill switch maybe, otherwise don't bother. The zippers are on the outside.

If you want it relatively secure, you need a hard top, hood lock, and full doors.

Remove a couple of relays and it's done. Just remember where to store them.
