Seeking input on a classified ad

Hello, I'm new to the forum and on the hunt for my first TJ, so I'm seeking some input from some experts on whether or not this jeep looks good for the asking price. I've done a bit of research on what to look for on used TJs, but any tips or suggestions having to do with specific listing is all welcomed.

I wouldn't buy it without taking an endoscope to the inside of the frame.

Hmm. I definitely thought this frame looked like it was on the good side, because that all appears to be surface rust. I understand that the frames rust from the inside out, so it can be hard to tell what the frame looks like on the inside short of putting your fingers in those access hole and feeling around for rust.

Here's some other ads I have my eye on, unfortunately the majority of listings do not have pictures of the most important thing, the frame.

Not much for sale on craigslist, but Ebay seems to have some nice looking ones

Might depend on how bad you want one, or how bad you want this one.
If you're not in a hurry; are there others for sale in your area that you can compare price, rust, features, etc.
Also, what mods (good or bad) have been done or will need undone.

You can always offer less than what they're asking. Especially if it looks like you know what you're looking at.

IF the frame rails pass the internal rust exploratory do a good inspection of the body mounts and engine compartment; then take the Jeep for a good long drive keeping an eye on the engine temperature and oil pressure.

Do a thorough inspection of the frame on that '99 Sahara, but it looks like a keeper....

Unfortunately @LONGJP2 there's really nothing in my immediate area from private sellers besides the one I posted first. Dealers have some for sale that are either way overpriced ($18,000 for a stock 99' sahara with 90,000 miles) or a complete piece of rusting crap (and still overpriced lol).

Thanks for the suggestions @CharlesHS, will do that on any test drives I take.
