Shift knob help

Ok so I feel pretty dumb not being able to figure this one out. I bought this:

I installed it but it’s upside down. No matter what I do I can’t get it to tighten without being upside down. I’ve read the top should come off but it doesn’t. I installed a new exhaust manifold and full exhaust on my Jeep myself but can’t figure this out.

I'd probably find the appropriate sized half nut to use as a jam nut.

X2, its a 10mm x 1.5.

That goes underneath the knob? Meaning i'll thread that on before I thread the knob on correct?

There is a nut on the inside. If you can unscrew it and take it inside the house. Use your wife's hair dryer to heat up the outside where the shift pattern is and you can use a small punch on the inside to help you lift out the cap

Use Extreme Caution I broke mine and had to swap my shift knob out

So its shift pattern pops like it does on the OE knob? That wasn't apparent on their photograph. If so that's how to do it. Pop that shift plate out and lock it into position with the hidden lock nut.

This shows the OE knob but it sounds like the Extreme Terrain knob is similar.

Leave it upside down to confuse would be thieves..

Not mine but I like it.

Not sure about the Extreme Terrain centerpiece but on the stock knob you can buy just the insert if you do happen to break it.
