I'm installing a dana 44 rear diff to replace the current dana 35. I have a 4" lift, SYE, Double cardan, new driveshaft installed with lift. Question is, will I need to shorten the driveshaft based on the attached pics?
Thanks for the help.

I did the same thing, converted from a Dana 35 to a Dana 44, but I reused the same DC driveshaft without problem.

Thanks Jerry, based on the pics does it look like I'll have the space?
Was it lifted before the swap to the Dana 44? If it was the same height before I'd probably have it shortened an inch by your local driveshaft shop which is not expensive. I gained a little additional space for my existing DC driveshaft by having installed a taller lift just before installing the Dana 44.
