I am searching for some info on soft 1/2 doors for 04 TJ. Are there any options except Bestop out there to be found. I am sure the Bestop are good doors, just looking for something a little less $. Will not be used that often. Thanks

I bought a pair of the Bestop soft half doors about 8 years ago. I think they have been on the Jeep twice. If I knew then what I know now I wouldn’t waste my money on them. If I want doors on the Jeep I’ll just leave the full steel doors on...
EAG has some decent tube doors that are reasonable.

Do you know how the webbing is attached to the tubes on these. The info in description says Velcro. If so then maybe I could get some vinyl and cut to fit and sew some Velcro to it and attach to the tubes to make solid cover in rain.
I have the web ones, the webbing has Velcro on the ends that wrap around the tubes and attach back to themselves. They also make several styles that have metal inserted between the tubes.

Have you considered aluminum half doors? They are reasonably priced and some can take soft uppers. Here is a picture of @Alex01 TJ with half doors he just installed. They are UCF Trail doors and they can be optioned for the upper window or run them without.

If you can, check eBay. My wife found a set of new Bestop soft doors, $50 shipped. But this was 14 years ago. They are out there though, just gotta look.
Well I guess technically they are still a "door" so with them on I'm still not doorless. Also there is no mirror mount on them which means you either have to run no side mirror(s) or get one of those silly pillar mounts for mirrors. Ended up just becoming something else to store in the garage.

I bought the Bestop half doors, basically full coverage material and they come with the upper portion with plastic windows. Yes, expensive. Regardless of the photo, we live in the desert. My vision was to throw these in the back of the Jeep because they are so light and smaller than a full door. Go play in the mountains. Then when we get back to the desert floor and it’s terribly hot, I throw these and the top back on and turn on the a/c. These were just to keep the cool in. I haven’t done it yet because I've only had them a short time and I’m fighting an a/c leak. But, I enjoy driving around with them on. I like the look and the air allowed through. It keeps the air from going crazy on the floor so I can put my lunch down there without using a seat belt.
