I need some help with my soft top. I've got a 2005 TJ unlimited I bought a few months ago. With the great weather we had last week I took the top down, now I'm putting the top up because of the coming rain. I've got the top fully up, with the header latches attached but but not closed, and I'm trying to fold the drip rail retainers into the slots. I have the passenger sides in, but I cannot for the life of me get the drivers side folded under. No amount of tugging and pulling to try and get a little slack will get those drip rail retainers folded under. Does anyone have any tips?

Can you get the top into a warmer environment? Crank up the heater? I'd say park it in the sun, but no sun in SoCal today.
Warmth is the secret, those those tops are nigh-impossible to get hooked in at the sides in cold weather. Once or twice I had to resort to a big pair of pliers where I had protected the jaws with cloth to pull the side down over the rail to latch it up into where it goes.
40 minutes of full blast heater and then a hair dryer on the drip rail retainer to soften them up a bit did the job.
Its all about heat. Wait for a 70F+ day and do it in the sun. Or heat your garage to said temp and leave the heater on for awhile.

Yes. I should have clarified. Warm the jeep up with the heater. Then park it in the garage...but DON'T turn your heater on and leave the Jeep running in the garage
When i did it time before last i put a space heater in the Jeep - in the garage. But its impossible to heat my high ceiling'd garage with a space heater. I was able to heat the inside. But it was not enough. So i eventually found a sunny day. And did it outside.
